These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the website retroweatherrewind.com and the Retro Weather Rewind livestream and video content (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
What Retro Weather Rewind is
Retro Weather Rewind is a free 24/7 weather channel presented in the visual style of 1990s cable weather television, with animated radar, city forecasts, and smooth jazz. It is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only. Retro Weather Rewind is a fan-made tribute and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to The Weather Channel, Weatherscan, or any broadcaster.
Weather information — important disclaimer
The weather information shown on the Service is aggregated from third-party sources and is provided "as is," without any warranty of accuracy, completeness, or timeliness. Do not rely on the Service for decisions affecting life, safety, or property. For official forecasts and, especially, for severe weather warnings, always consult the National Weather Service and your local emergency management authorities, which are the authoritative sources. We are not liable for any action taken or not taken based on information from the Service.
Data sources and attribution
Live data is provided by third parties including the National Weather Service, Open-Meteo, and RainViewer. Those sources remain subject to their own terms and licenses.
All music on the Service is original to Retro Weather Rewind and remains our property; no third-party recordings are used.
Intellectual property
The Retro Weather Rewind name, graphics, and original presentation are the property of the channel. You may watch and share links to our public content and streams. You may not copy, re-upload, resell, or create derivative broadcasts from our original graphics, music, and packaging without permission. Third-party weather data remains the property of its respective owners under the licenses noted above.
Photos and video you send us
You can send us your own weather photos and video through the submission form on the website or in our apps. Sending something in does not transfer ownership: you keep the copyright in your photo or video.
When you submit, you confirm that you shot it yourself (or hold the rights to it), that it does not contain anyone else's copyrighted work, and that you have permission from anyone clearly identifiable in it. You then grant Retro Weather Rewind a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to show it on the 24/7 channel and its livestreams, on this website — including the Viewer Photos gallery — in our apps, and on our social accounts, together with the credit and location you provided. That license includes the routine technical handling needed to show it: resizing, re-encoding, cropping or trimming for a broadcast frame, and adding channel graphics. We do not sell your photo or license it on to anyone else.
Nothing is published automatically. Every submission is reviewed by a person, and we may decline anything for any reason. You can ask us to take a published submission down at any time by emailing photos@retroweatherrewind.com; we will remove it from the website and the app promptly, though copies already broadcast, recorded or reshared by others may be beyond our reach. Submissions we decline are deleted.
Please don't put yourself in danger to get a shot, and don't send anything that isn't yours — including screenshots of other people's photos or footage taken from television.
Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- break any applicable law or regulation;
- interfere with, overload, or attempt to disrupt the Service or its infrastructure;
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to any system related to the Service; or
- misrepresent the Service as an official or authoritative weather warning source.
Third-party platforms and links
Our content is also distributed on third-party platforms such as YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, X, Instagram, and Facebook, and the Service may link to third-party sites. Your use of those platforms and sites is governed by their own terms and privacy policies, which we do not control and are not responsible for.
Availability
The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it — including the livestream, website, or specific features — at any time and without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Retro Weather Rewind and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service or from reliance on any information it provides. The Service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The effective date at the top reflects the latest version, and continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
