What makes it different

There are wonderful on-demand emulators of this era — the WeatherStar 4000+ and various Weatherscan simulators — that you open and run. Retro Weather Rewind is the always-on broadcast version: a channel with a live music bed that you leave on like a TV in the corner of the room. Real forecasts, rendered continuously in the 90s style, around the clock.

The story

For a lot of people, mornings in the 90s meant flipping to The Weather Channel and waiting through the dreamy smooth-jazz loop for the "Local on the 8s" to scroll around to their town. That exact experience disappeared. Retro Weather Rewind rebuilds it from scratch — live weather in the era-correct broadcast style, music and all — and streams it forever.
