Turn Your PC Into a 90s Weather Channel
When your screen goes idle, RetroWeather Rewind takes over — your own local forecast in full retro on-air style, current conditions, radar, and a smooth-jazz soundtrack. It finds your area automatically.
Free · ~66 MB installer · installs the Microsoft WebView2 runtime if needed
Your town, automatically
Detects your location and shows the nearest city's live forecast. Prefer somewhere else? Set any ZIP code in Settings.
The real on-air look
The exact 90s cable-weather graphics from the 24/7 stream — forecast, current conditions, local forecast, and almanac.
Smooth jazz included
The signature synthwave & lounge soundtrack plays automatically. Mute it anytime from Settings.
Multi-monitor ready
Fills every display. Music plays on your primary monitor so screens never talk over each other.
Installing
- Download RetroWeatherRewind-Setup.exe and run it.
- Approve the install (it copies the screensaver into Windows and adds the WebView2 runtime if your PC doesn't already have it).
- Open Screen Saver Settings when prompted, pick RetroWeather Rewind, and hit Preview.
- Use Settings to pick a city or ZIP code, set the music volume, and choose which monitors it covers — then hit Preview to see it right away.
Requirements
- Windows 10 or Windows 11 (64-bit)
- An internet connection (the channel streams live — there is no offline mode)
- Microsoft Edge WebView2 runtime (installed automatically if missing)
Don't have Windows? You can always watch the national 24/7 stream or tune in your local channel in a browser.
